Make it a vintage and handmade holiday at the greenest, most unique and affordable shopping experience of the season! Providence Flea, the award-winning outdoor vintage and artisan/maker market, moves its popular Holiday Markets to a new location and time at the WaterFire Arts Center, 475 Valley Street, on two Sundays this year, December 8 and December 15, from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.
The Holiday Markets offer a juried selection from vintage vendors, artisans and makers including: vintage vinyl, handcrafted jewelry and accessories; handcrafted soaps, candles and apothecary items; letterpress cards and original artworks, vintage finds and upcycled crafts; small-batch bakeshop and food items; vintage Christmas ornaments and holiday-themed decor; handknit hats, scarves and mittens; handsewn dolls; handpainted signs and upcycled furniture; and so much more from over 80 vendors on each Sunday (with a total of over 140 participating vendors in all).
The Flea will also feature several community nonprofits. The Ornament Rescue League, at the December 8 market, is a group who restores vintage ornaments, giving them a chance to shine again with proceeds supporting Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Tink Knit, also at the December 8th market, is a Brown University and RISD student-led nonprofit that enables low-income single mothers in Rhode Island to make a supplemental income through knitting. The Youth Collaborative teaches lifelong empowerment to urban teens through entrepreneurship and mentoring, and will be at both markets.
Shoppers can pick up a hot mocha latte or campfire cocoa from Presto Coffee Truck and a grass-fed Angus burger from Rocket Fine Street Food; sample tasty baked goods to eat on site or take home from Blush Bakeshop, Clover Fine Desserts and Mama B’s Tasty Treats; plus jams, jellies and sauces from We Be Jammin.
The Holiday Markets offer free admission and WaterFire Arts Center offers plenty of free, off-street parking.
