July 23 – 27 at the WaterFire Arts Center

The Fringe Festival or better known as FRINGEPVD, was founded in 2014 by Josh Short and is put on by a non-profit group called The Wilbury Theater Group. The festival is produced to share established and upcoming artists who bring fun, fearless, affordable theater for the community. The Wilbury Theater Group creates a bond between artists, audience, business and local organizations to present Providence as a cultural destination.

In its fifth year, FRINGEPVD will be featuring more than 250 performing artists from across the country and it will be hosted at WaterFire Arts center for the third time. In addition to WaterFire Arts Center hosting the festival, it will also be consolidated to the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence and will include 58 performances over the course of 5 days. Sharing work in theater, dance, visual arts and everything in between; making it easy for audience members to see more shows and visit multiple venues each night. For some it’s a once-a-year opportunity to create a show, for others it can be an opportunity to try something new. Some venues you will not want to miss out on are Courtyard at The Plant, Riffraff, Steel Yard, Yellow Peril and the Wilbury Theater Group’s very own performance space.

There will be multiple events held between July 22nd-27th, including the opening party on the 22nd at the Wilbury Theater and the closing party on the 27th held at The WaterFire Arts Center.
